Handwoven Towels by Sharon
Dish Towels are a really so much fun to weave and the possibilities are endless. I usually like to put on a warp that will allow me to weave at least four towels at a time, six if I feel ambitious.
By putting on enough warp to weave multiple dish towels I'm able to adjust my warp colors and weave structures to achieve individual results. Therefore, when I pair them up for gift giving (usually two at a time) they are all different.

During the summer months you will find me out at the Amana Colonies on Friday's demonstrating either my spinning or weaving at their local Farmer's Market.
In keeping with the simplicity of prior times I am pleased with the response to these generously sized dish towels. I used a 50/50 linen/ cotton for the warp in a natural color. For the weft I mixed it up with the same 50/50 linen/cotton and added color either in the band or a portion of the body.
